Your Beatitude, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Chairman of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, beloved brother in Christ, our God, co celebrant with our humbleness, Mgr. Christodoulos. Embracing Your highly respected Beatitude we greet in You with utmost gladness.
We are communicating with Your Highly Respected Beatitude in order to announce to You, and through You to the Holy Church of Greece that the former Bishop Nikiphoros of Constantine, known also as Nicholas Baltatzis, who had been defrocked and retuned to the status of a civilian, has submitted an application asking for his reinstatement, having declared sincere regret, and after he came back to Jerusalem, he was admitted back to the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre during the meeting of our Holy Synod (6th Session, of March 24, 2006), and during the 9th Session of April 28, 2006 was reinstated to the degree of the High Priesthood and also was promoted to the rank of Archbishop of Askalon, and should be known from now on as a Bishop of the Ancient and Glorious Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
It is with great joy that we announce to Your Beatitude the decision of our Holy Synod as it is our duty, and we pray to our Lord from the Most Holy and life giving Tomb of His, to bestow on You the power needed in order to execute your Most High Mission and embracing you in a brotherly embrace we remain.
